Gifting is a mechanic in MovieStarPlanet that allows players to give items and animations away to other users. A user must be level 6 (or level 8 on MSP2) before they can gift, and players can only gift 25 times a day. Gifting is open to VIP and non-VIP players, but non-VIP users have more restrictions.
About[]
Players can choose to gift clothing, furniture, animations, backgrounds, or VIP Tickets. Any item that is gifted cannot be reclaimed by the original owner unless it is re-gifted back to them as a gift or a trade.
Keeping track of your gifts is easy. Once inside of the profile book, click the present icon.
- "New Gifts" will show any unopened gifts that have been gifted to you by another user.
- "Wishlist" will show you any items that you want other players to buy you.
- "Received" keeps a record of all of the gifts that have been given to you.
- "Given" keeps a record of all of the gifts that you have given to others.
The gifting mechanic goes beyond physical gifts. MovieStarPlanet counts greetings and trading as gifts. Therefore, a player who has sent 5 greets in one day will only be able to greet, gift and/or trade up to 20 more times that day.
Gifting Methods[]
Wishlist Gifting (MSP Only)[]
The wishlist is the place where users can put clothing or room items they cannot afford but would like other users to buy for them. The wishlist can hold a maximum of twelve items and is accessed by going to a user's full profile and clicking the gifts tab. You can remove or purchase items from your own wishlist at any time.
Players who wish to gift others items off of their wishlist must still pay full price.
Normal Gifting[]
Clothing, animations, backgrounds, and items can be sent from your own personal wardrobe for free. This can be accessed by going to a user's mini profile and clicking the gift button. On mobile, the wardrobe is sorted by the categories found within the shops.

Gifting[]
- Players must be level 6 (or level 8 for MSP2) before they can gift to other players. This is likely to prevent users from creating new accounts to gift desired items to their main accounts.
- Players are limited to 25 gifts per day
- Gift limits reset daily at 8pm EST.
- VIP items cannot be gifted to non-VIP players.
- A non-VIP player may gift VIP items in their possession to VIP players, but a non-VIP player will never be able to receive a VIP item.
- Pets cannot be gifted on MSP but can be on MSP2.
Wishlist[]
- Diamond items, beauty supplies, currency, and fame cannot be gifted or wished for.
- Animations cannot be wished for.
- Only 12 items may be placed on a wishlist at one time.
- VIP items cannot be wished for by non-VIP users.
- On MSP mobile, non-VIP users cannot buy VIP items off of anybody's wish list. However, non-VIP players can buy VIP wishlist items on PC.
Trivia[]
- The gift limit was 10 gifts per day until an update in November 2017.
- Players below level 6 (MSP) or level 8 (MSP2) can still receive gifts.
- You could not originally gift from mobile.
