Retired clothing (or "rare" clothing) is a group of clothing items in MovieStarPlanet that are impossible to obtain regularly unless brought back during Rare Week, Many players refer to these items as "rares".

These items were all once sold in the shop, but have since been removed without any official reason from MovieStarPlanet Aps. Many players suspect that these items were removed due to issues with covering and fitting the avatars, copyright, being inappropriate, and/or being outdated. Some items from Diamond Packages are also considered to be rare, since, like the other examples, they are unable to be purchased in the shop.

History

  • The "Geometric Skirt" was previously a retired item; however, it was added back into shops not long after its removal. It's believed that it was added back because of the response from the community.
  • Several retired items returned in rare week themes during fall of 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as spring of 2016, 2017 and 2018.
    • During the 2015 rare week, some items not included in the theme were available for various lengths of time due to bugs.
  • The 2014 theme "I Love Paris" added the "Nerds" glasses back into stores with an increased price.
  • In the 2014 shop update, many items were returned to stores.
  • On the day the "Flawless" theme was released, MSP added some ultras into the shops. These included "Fishnets", "I <3 The 80's" and many more. In the rare week later, most of the rares released during the "Flawless" theme came back once again.
  • In 2019, many items had returned to the shops.
